MUMBAI: Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala announced their engagement on Thursday, August 8. When Nagarjuna posted their engagement pictures on social media, it officially ended the many rumors that they were dating. Sobhita previously made a video that went viral in which she described her perfect partner.
Speaking with the well-known news website, Sobhita stated, “I think it’d be nice if we share a similar value system. That’s a big one. Actually, it would be good if they’re not too extroverted because I wouldn’t be able to catch up. I would get stressed. And they should have a creative, adventurous spirit.”
Fans have discovered previously unreleased footage of the actors talking following Sobhita and Naga's official relationship announcement. In one of these videos, Sobhita discussed Naga, “I think his temperament to… I think he’s such a cool-headed, calm guy. So dignified. I really appreciate it.”
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala’s dating rumours had been making headlines for a long time. It all started in May last year when they were first spotted together in Hyderabad, Naga’s hometown where Sobhita was promoting her film, Major. Reports suggested that the actress, who was in the city for film promotions, celebrated her birthday with Naga and some friends.
Before getting engaged to Sobhita on August 8, Naga Chaitanya got married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu. They dated for a few years before their 2017 wedding. However, in October 2021 after four years of marriage, the two announced their split. They had requested privacy from fans and followers in a statement at the time as they "moved on."
Nagarjuna disclosed in a recent interview that Chay was "depressed" following his split with Samantha Ruth Prabhu but is now "very happy" since he is engaged to Sobhita.
“It (engagement) went very very well. Chay has found happiness again. He is very happy. So am I! It has not been an easy time for Chay or the family. The separation from Samantha left him very depressed. My boy doesn’t show his feelings to anyone. But I knew he was unhappy. To see him smile again…Sobhita and Chay make a wonderful couple. They love each other dearly,” Nagarjuna told the popular news portal.
