Meenakshi Sheshadri reveals she was ‘Heartbroken after Rishi Kapoor’s death’

MUMBAI: After making her acting debut in the 1980s, Meenakshi Seshadri collaborated with a number of male A-list actors, including Shatrughan Sinha, Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Anil Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan. She left the movie business in 1996 to concentrate on her personal life and moved to the United States.

Meenakshi who is all set for her second innings into the film industry spoke about her favorite co-star Rishi Kapoor. She said, “No, I haven’t met her yet, but I’m very curious to meet her. I’m a big fan of hers and she is my most favorite co-star’s wife. I felt heartbroken and sad after Rishi Ji’s passing and learning about his health condition. Hopefully, I will meet Neetu Kapoor very soon.”

She further said, “Rishi Ji advised me, ‘The attraction of touch can be controlled, and don’t fall into the trap that you need a public face to have a successful life!’” She further added, “I’ve been contemplating a comeback for the past 10-12 years. During this time, I would often connect with Rishi Ji.”

Meenakshi Seshadri spent almost 13 years acting in motion pictures. Following her 1996 absence, she appeared as a guest in the films Ghayal: Once Again (2016) and Swami Vivekananda (1998). Meenakshi would really like to return, having not done so in almost 27 years. The actress stated in an interview with ETimes that it would be intriguing to watch what kinds of jobs are offered to her.

Meenakshi concluded saying, “I think current filmmakers will want to know what I am like nowadays, what my artistic expression is before anybody decided to write a script for me.”
