MUMBAI: Janmashtami, a lively and spirited festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, is observed each year with immense zeal across the country. Honored by millions, this festival is characterized by deep devotion and grand festivities that highlight the vibrant essence of Hindu culture. On this day, devotees fast, sing bhajans, and perform reenactments of Lord Krishna's life, culminating in a midnight ceremony to mark His birth. As people embrace the festive spirit, Zee TV actor Krishna Kaul from Kumkum Bhagya shares his fondest memories of the festival.
Krishna Kaul who essays the role of Ranbir in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya said, “I believe Janmashtami truly infuses life with immense joy and happiness every year. I deeply value Lord Krishna’s teachings, as they offer a profound spiritual awakening and remind me of the divine grace that guides us through life’s challenges. During my childhood, my mom used to dress me up like Lord Krishna every year and click my pictures. I was also very mischievous back then and used to love getting dressed in dhoti with a mor pankh. I think this is one of the reasons my mother named me Krishna. I must say that this festival holds a very special place in my heart. This year, I am celebrating it in Mumbai and am really excited to visit the temple and join in the vibrant Dahi Handi festivities near my home with my friends.”
