Preity Zinta shares her IVF journey before welcoming Gia and Jai via surrogacy; ‘Sometimes I just wanted to...’

MUMBAI: Preity Zinta is a proud mother of two adorable children in addition to being a well-known Bollywood star. She was happily married to Gene Goodenough and welcomed Gia and Jai into the world via surrogacy. The actress recently disclosed that she opted for IVF and that going through a challenging time would make her feel like she was hitting her head against the wall.

Preity Zinta discussed the difficulties she had during the IVF process in a recent interview with the popular news portal, highlighting how emotionally draining it was for her. The actress from Lahore 1947 started by admitting that while one must concentrate on their work, one must also acknowledge that life is not always fair.

She continued by pointing out that everyone has a biological clock and that not everyone has equal chances. "People forget that for women, as actors, your craft is important; you want a body of work, but family is equally important," she stated.

The actress is getting ready to make her return to the big screen, felt ready for it because her children are now two years old. The 49-year-old actress shared her own challenges and admitted that everyone has good and bad days. She acknowledged that, particularly when going through a difficult moment, maintaining a positive outlook may occasionally be difficult.

"I used to feel like that during my IVF cycles. It was very difficult to be smiley and nice all the time. Sometimes I just wanted to bang my head on the wall and cry or not talk to anybody. So yes, it has to be a balancing act for all actors,” she said.

In a private ceremony in 2016, Preity Zinta got married to financial analyst Gene Goodenough, who is based in America. In 2021, she welcomed twins through surrogacy, Gia and Jai.

In the meantime, Preity will soon be making her return to the silver screen opposite Sunny Deol in Lahore 1947. The movie has Aamir Khan's backing and is helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, was officially announced in October of last year. In addition, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol will play important parts.
