MUMBAI: Lokesh Batta, who is seen in Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey’s Badall Pe Paon Hai, which is produced under their banner Dreamiyata Entertainment Private Limited, said, “Daily soaps often resonate with the values and beliefs of a society because they reflect the everyday lives, struggles, and emotions of ordinary people.”
He shared it is done to build a connection with the audience, and added, “They often portray cultural traditions, family dynamics, and moral dilemmas that are relevant to the society they target.”
Lokesh also mentioned that television has the power to shape and influence society. “It can popularize certain ideologies, set trends, and change perspectives. Repeated exposure to certain themes, lifestyles, or stereotypes on TV can alter public perception and behavior showing that society in part responds to the content that television provides,” he said.
Talking about his show, Badall Pe Paon Hai, he elaborated that it is influencing people in two areas: financial stock market education and relatable storytelling of a middle class family.
“TV today is its unique blend of lightheartedness and depth. My show manages to strike a balance between humor, emotion, and real-world financial insights,” he said.
“Also, many people, especially from middle-class backgrounds, may find stock markets intimidating or out of reach. Our show is empowering viewers by breaking down complex financial information into simpler terms, helping them understand investment strategies, risks, and opportunities,” he added.
When questioned on the type of role - short yet influential or long and less impactful—he would like to do, Lokesh said, “As an actor, both short and impactful characters and long-term characters have their own merits, and it really depends on the narrative and the role’s purpose in the story.”
“If we talk about short-term characters Short and impactful characters can leave a lasting impression because they often play pivotal roles in driving the plot or delivering a powerful message within a limited time. On the other hand, long-term characters offer a deeper exploration of character development. Over time, you get to add layers to the character, evolve with the story. Just like my character Gourav in the show,” he ended.
