MUMBAI : Bigg Boss 18 premiered this Sunday, introducing 18 new competitors to the renowned reality show.
The list includes a diverse range of TV actors, politicians, and social media influencers.
However, the '19th contestant' sparked the most interest among the audience. This time, Bigg Boss decided to bring an actual animal inside the Bigg Boss house: a donkey named Gadhraj.
The audience's response to this has been conflicted, and now PETA, an organization dedicated to animal welfare, has also expressed outrage.
Shaurya Agrawal, an advocacy associate with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India wrote a letter to Bigg Boss and Salman Khan on how he was in distress after watching a Donkey on the show.

He wrote "We are being inundated with complaints by members of the public who are deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house. Their concerns are valid and must not be ignored," the letter reads. Calling the inclusion of the animal in the show 'distressing', PETA India has urged Salman to use his influence as a host and star 'to surrender the donkey to PETA India, to rehome in a sanctuary with other rescued donkeys'
He also said that the usage of Animals on any show is no more funny and he requested Salman Khan to look into this matter and to not use any animals for the show.
On the social media platform Reddit many users began sharing their views on the same where some said that the usage of Donkey is wrong and that the contestants are inside the house with their consent and the animal isn't.
We have also seen at times how the contestants are also uncomfortable with the animal but then they have no choice.
Well, it will be interesting to see if PETA or Salman Khan would react to the petition.
