Naib Tehsildar Jagpal Singh's accusation led to the filing of a formal complaint against Kuldeep Khurana. The complaint claims that Khurana assaulted Singh, yelled insults, and blocked his path as he was going for duty. An employee who was with the official took a video of the incident, which the police used as proof.

For months, Khurana had escaped capture in Ludhiana despite numerous police raids. The cops arrested him from his home after receiving a tip. After he was brought before the Phillaur court, his judicial custody was ordered. Khurana is now being held at Kapurthala Jail.

Khurana was accused of assaulting a government official and interfering with official activities, according to the Goraya SHO, who verified the arrest. Investigations are still being conducted.
