MUMBAI : The saying, "The road to one’s heart is through the stomach," takes center stage in the current track of Shemaroo Umang’s show ‘Main Dil Tum Dhadkan.’ In the ongoing storyline, Vrinda, played by Radhika Muthukumar proves this saying right. In the recent episode we see how Vrinda’s cooking skills help her win the heart of a foreign businessman, which is important for her husband Keshav’s (Zohaib's) career. Despite being unaware of certain cooking restrictions, Vrinda still manages to impress the delegate, which helps Keshav to get the contract.
Reflecting on her role in Main Dil Tum Dhadkan, Radhika Muthukumar shares how her characters have often connected her to the heart of Indian households—the kitchen. “From my first role to Vrinda, I’ve often portrayed women whose cooking becomes their strength, winning hearts and building bonds. It’s something that resonates deeply with me, as cooking is such an integral part of Indian women’s lives, whether they’re homemakers or working professionals. Feeding our families is an expression of love, and even with my busy schedule, I try to cook for the people I care about whenever possible.”
She further elaborates on Vrinda’s journey: “Vrinda pours her heart into every meal she prepares for her son, Kanha. After marrying Keshav, her role expands as she balances her responsibilities as a wife and mother, continuing to touch lives with her warmth and dedication. In the recent track, when Vrinda learns that the Indian food she prepared is for a foreign guest who is not fond of Indian cuisine, she instantly comes up with the idea of transforming it into a fusion dish. Her quick thinking and culinary skills win the businessman’s heart and save the day for Keshav. Playing a multitasker feels so natural to me; sometimes I even forget the camera is rolling as I fully immerse myself in the character, channeling that innate ‘woman mode’ where you instinctively know what to do.”
