Revealing things he is scared of, Mehul said, ''I am quite sorted and I am not scared of anything. No height fear, no claustrophobia, no snake fear, no lizard fear, no stage fear but I am scared of rats. Technically, it's called musophobia or ratophobia.''
He continued, ''This rat fear is to the next level. And when you fear something you happen to notice that all the very more. And in Mumbai rats and rodents are the most common things that you see around.''
Mehul described an incident on the same and said, ''During one of my shows, the makeup room had a high slanted ceiling, so to make it look aesthetic they had put a flex/thick plastic ceiling. Around those makeup rooms there were a lot of rats and I could always hear rats crawling on that ceiling. I always feared that one of the days the rats would scratch open the plastic ceiling and fall into the makeup room. And knowing about this fear of rats that I have, my co-actor Manan Joshi, till today sends me ugly rat reels to irritate me (laughs).''
