MUMBAI: Radhikka Madan recently marked a significant milestone as her beloved film 'Sarfira' completed one year since its original release. The film resonated with the audiences for its empowering storyline, unique narrative, and Radhikka's standout portrayal alongside co-star Akshay Kumar. Playing his on-screen wife, Radhikka essayed the role of a Maharashtrian woman, and captured the nuances of Marathi culture, adding gravitas and honesty to her portrayal of Rani Mhatre.
As Sarfira clocks one year of its release, Radhikka Madan opened up about her overall experience. She shares, "It's been a year of Sarfira, and all I can say is time flies by so fast. It was as if we were filming just a few days ago! Rani is one of the most challenging roles that I've ever played. I am a Delhi girl and I have been challenging myself with different dialects with every project, from the Uttar Pradesh accent to the Jaipuri accent, and now the Marathi accent - it was quite exciting. Many speak Marathi in Mumbai locally, so I’d spend time locally to understand the authenticity of the language and polish my Marathi.“
She concludes, “It was also incredible working with some of the best personalities, including Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal sir, and Vikram Malhotra - our producer. After working with him in Sarfira, I’m quite excited for our next, Subedaar.”
Known for making unconventional choices of projects, Radhikka Madan stunned everyone with her grounded yet power-packed performance. Directed by National Award winner Sudha Kongara, Sarfira showcases a captivating story set against the backdrop of India's booming startup culture and aviation industry. Not only did Radhikka Madan infuse her role with believability, but she also added gravitas with her impressive emotional range. With a knack for bringing newness to the screens, the audiences are excited to see more of her on-screen in her next project, Subedaar.
