MUMBAI: Actress Natashaa Fernandes, who will soon be seen in Andaaz 2, says she continues to celebrate Friendship Day every year, but in a rather unconventional way. For her, it’s a special day she marks with someone closest to her heart, her mom.
“Yes I do celebrate friendship day with my best friend, my mother. We usually step out for a quiet lunch or dinner, followed by a movie on Netflix or Prime. We cherish such moments as I travel often between Delhi and Mumbai. Apart from that, a text or a video call to my closest friends as most of them are overseas,” she says.
Ask her if it is tough to find friends in the industry, and she says, “Yes it is, I haven't had it easy and still struggle to be accepted. I wish it wasn't this way but this is the bitter truth we go through in current times. I do have a friend or two from the television industry and I value and cherish them. It's important as an actor to have friends from the industry not only for networking purposes but also to have productive conversations about the craft. There's always a thing or two to learn from our fellow actors' experiences,” she says.
Talking about a perfect time with friends, she says, “Honestly, for me, it would be a grand holiday and spending time at home. With time we all find it hard to stay connected or catch up due to various life commitments, so a holiday and some quality time at home would be such a refreshing experience! It would not only help us relive our old memories but also create an avenue to make new ones.”
Speaking about friendships that have lasted the test of time, she says, “Unfortunately some friendships outgrow with time. Although not school friends, I do have some friends for life who are with me through thick and thin. I believe everyone has a purpose in one's life and once that purpose is achieved either the friendships wither away or grow stronger with time. Friendship is a choice and it takes two to make it a bond for life.”
