MUMBAI: Umesh Shukla is all set to bring his upcoming film Heer Express to audiences, with newcomer Divita Juneja making her debut in the lead role. The film also boasts a stellar cast, including veteran actors Gulshan Grover and Ashutosh Rana. Juneja will be seen opposite actor Pritt Kamani in a romantic pairing.
In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar.com, director and producer Umesh Shukla shared insights into the making of Heer Express, the experience of casting Juneja in the lead role, and more.

When asked about casting Divita in the film, Umesh revealed that he was looking for a fresh face for the role — someone relatively new to the entertainment industry. He explained that finding the right actor for Heer was particularly challenging, as the character needed to be a multi-tasker while also radiating a pure, innocent charm.
He shared, "We wanted a fresh face, and I had been on the lookout for the perfect match for Heer. I first noticed Divita at an awards show and invited her to my office for auditions. Sometimes, a character may look right for the role, but other factors may not align. I remember the moment she walked into the cabin — I instantly felt she could pull off the character. Still, I gave her a few situations to improvise and perform. I gave her half an hour to prepare, and what she delivered convinced me completely: she was my Heer."
