MUMBAI: Sony SAB recently launched its grand mythological saga, Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki - Ganesh Kartikey, on October 6th. Airing Monday to Saturday at 8 PM, the show beautifully portrays not only the divine journey of Lord Shiva (Mohit Malik), Goddess Parvati (Shrenu Parikh), Lord Ganesh (Ekansh Kathoriya), and Lord Kartikey (Subhan Khan) but also the essence of family bonds, emotions, and values that connect the Shiv Parivaar.
Among its powerful characters, the show features acclaimed actor Achint Kaur as Diti, the formidable matriarch of the asuras. Diti’s story is one of pain, power, and purpose, a woman shaped by love, loss, and vengeance. Once a devoted wife and mother, her life turns tragic after the loss of her unborn child and the death of her sons, pushing her toward darkness and defiance against the divine order.
Speaking about her role, Achint Kaur shared, “Diti is one of the most powerful and emotionally layered characters I’ve ever portrayed. She’s fierce, intelligent, and driven by pain, but beneath all that strength lies a mother who has endured unimaginable loss. What fascinated me about Diti is her duality, she’s both the nurturer and the destroyer in her world and makes her a formidable antagonist to Lord Shiv’s son Kartikey. Portraying her emotional and moral conflict is a challenge I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Ganesh Kartikey is not just about gods and demons; it’s about family, emotion, and the choices that shape our destinies.”
