MUMBAI: As the festival of lights approaches, actor Satya Tiwari, who is currently seen in Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi’s popular show Anupamaa, opens up about what Diwali truly means to him — both on a personal and professional level. Known for his sincerity and grounded nature, Satya shares that this year’s Diwali holds a deeper significance in his life.

Tiwari exclusively told TellyChakkar, "This year, I’m really looking forward to spending some quality time with my family — going shopping with my father for Dhanteras and just being together. That’s what makes the festival special for me. On the professional front, I feel blessed to be part of one of television’s top shows. That’s not just a Diwali gift — it’s something I’m grateful for every single day.”

For Satya, the festival’s message of light triumphing over darkness carries a profound personal meaning. “There have been times when things didn’t go as planned — in my career or personal life. In those moments, your mind becomes your toughest opponent. Rising above self-doubt and finding strength within yourself truly feels like experiencing the real essence of Diwali,” he reflects.

Sharing his on-set experience, Satya says that shooting festive sequences for Anupamaa always feels like a real celebration. “Diwali scenes on set are pure magic — the lights, laughter, and camaraderie make it so much fun. There’s always that touch of drama that keeps it exciting too,” he chuckles.

When asked what Diwali personally means to him, Satya thoughtfully replies, “For me, Diwali is all about new beginnings — letting go of negativity, embracing light, and moving forward with gratitude and positivity.”

This year, the actor plans to keep his celebrations intimate and heartfelt. “I’ll wear a traditional kurta-pyjama, light diyas around the house, indulge in sweets, and spend time with my loved ones. I also make sure to stay away from firecrackers — out of love and concern for animals,” he shares.

Reflecting on what he’s most thankful for, Satya adds warmly, “I’m deeply grateful for my audience’s love, the opportunities that keep coming my way, my health, and the chance to do what I truly love every day.”

Ending on a poignant note, he shares the one thought that always inspires him during the festival of lights:

“The fact that I never gave up on myself — that’s my biggest Diwali light.”
