Ajay Devgn’s Raid 3 officially set to go on floors in late 2026

Actor Ajay Devgn and director Rajkumar Gupta are officially set to reunite for the third instalment of their hit franchise, Raid 3. The film is currently in development, with the script promising higher stakes and a larger scale than the previous two films, and is scheduled to begin shooting in late 2026.

MUMBAI: Superstar Ajay Devgn and acclaimed director Rajkumar Gupta are gearing up to collaborate once again for the highly anticipated third chapter in their successful crime-drama franchise, Raid 3.

This exclusive development confirms that the makers are now focused on elevating the story and production value of the sequel, following the success of the 2018 original and its equally impactful follow-up, Raid 2.

Work on the script has been underway quietly for the past few months. The creative team is committed to making this instalment the biggest and most emotionally resonant yet.

A source close to the project revealed the scale of the new challenge, stating: "The team has been quietly developing the script over the past few months. The conflict in the 3rd part is bigger than the earlier 2 films.

The stakes are much higher, and the raid itself will be designed in a bigger way. Ajay Devgn's character will face a situation unlike anything seen in the franchise so far.”

Ajay Devgn is confirmed to reprise his role as the fearless and sharp Income Tax Officer. This time, his character will navigate a more complex and high-stakes scenario on a much grander canvas.

The film is currently slated to go on floors by the end of 2026. Pre-production, including location scouting and finalising the cast, is expected to commence in mid-2026, once Ajay Devgn has fulfilled his existing professional commitments.

Director Rajkumar Gupta is personally focused on refining the screenplay to maintain the franchise’s signature realistic tone.

The prior success of the franchise sets a high benchmark; Raid 2, for example, achieved a strong global box office collection of ₹219 crore.

The anticipation is already high for Raid 3 to surpass the commercial and critical acclaim of its predecessors.
