The actor also addressed the chatter around the Tiger–Pathaan reference in the new season, along with his thoughts on losing the National Award to Shah Rukh Khan.

Manoj sir, The Family Man 3 has finally arrived on Amazon Prime Video and is receiving fantastic reviews. However, social media has been buzzing about the Tiger and Pathaan reference. What is your take on it?

To be honest, social media has blown the entire thing out of proportion. The reference in the show actually comes from Srikant’s son, who watches animated spy series on OTT platforms. He simply asks his father what his code name should be. While shooting, it never crossed my mind that this could be linked to Tiger or Pathaan. It’s a very innocent moment, yet it has been interpreted in ways we never imagined.

Fans adored your performance in Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. Many felt you were the frontrunner for the National Award, but it ultimately went to Shah Rukh Khan. How do you feel about that?

Over the years, every time the audience believed I deserved a National Award for a particular role, I didn’t win it. So I’ve learnt not to dwell on it. Whoever receives the award deserves to be celebrated. If I don’t win, I accept it with grace and move on.

Grounded, disciplined, and deeply committed to his craft, Manoj Bajpayee remains an enduring force—one whose work continues to elevate Indian storytelling across every medium.
