Zeenat Aman recreates an iconic dance moment with Archana Puran Singh on her birthday

Veteran screen icon Zeenat Aman celebrated her 74th birthday with an unexpected, lively party hosted by a friend, where she joyously danced to her classic hit "Dum Maro Dum" alongside fellow actor Archana Puran Singh.

MUMBAI: Screen legend Zeenat Aman recently marked her 74th birthday with a celebratory deviation from her usual quiet routine.

The actress, who typically keeps her celebrations small and private, attended a surprise party thrown by a close friend, Pammi, which turned into a vibrant evening of nostalgia and spontaneous dancing.

The actress took to her official Instagram page, where she shared details of the intimate celebration she held at home with her sons and pet cats, but reserved her most entertaining anecdote for the friend-hosted party.

She described the unexpected enthusiasm of the gathering, particularly the moment she found herself on the dance floor.

Zeenat Aman posted, detailing the event: "Candles and flowers and cakes, oh my! Celebrated another turn around the sun as I always do—with the boys and Lily (the cats ignored the festivities).

I always keep the celebrations small, but last night I had to attend a party hosted by my dear friend Pammi. My goodness! Those larger-than-life Punjabis had me cutting cakes and dancing like I haven't in years! Not to mention that they embarrassed me terribly by making an announcement about my birthday on the microphone.

This departure from normalcy was most fun, but I'm happy to be back in hermit mode again, too."

Among the guests was actress Archana Puran Singh, who provided further glimpses of the joyous night on her social media.

Archana confirmed the highlight of the evening was when she and Zeenat Aman danced together to the latter’s iconic track, "Dum Maro Dum," from the 1971 film Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

Sharing a video of the cake cutting and a sweet moment with the birthday star, Archana wrote a heartfelt caption: "Happy birthday Zeenat. Dancing last night on Dum Maro Dum with youuuuuu was the highlight of the evening for me. Wish I could have captured it on camera.

Loads of love to someone who has always lived life on her own terms and continues to be an icon for millions, including moi! Wishing you a fabulous year ahead, Zee, filled with love, laughter and good health!"

Zeenat Aman concluded her message by thanking her well-wishers and asking for a healthy year ahead, confirming that even for an icon, spontaneous parties can be the most memorable.
