MUMBAI: Colors TV’s Mangal Lakshmi: Lakshmi Ka Safar is set to experience a major shift in its storyline. Sshubham Dipta, who played the role of Karthik Nigam, has decided to quit the show, paving the way for Manan Joshi to step forward as the main lead.
TellyChakkar.com connected with Sshubham to discuss his decision to exit, fans’ reactions, and co-actor Sanika Amit’s response to his departure.

Speaking about taking this tough call, Dipta shared, “I feel my contributions had become repetitive, and there was no longer enough space for me to explore or grow as an artist. For my professional journey, it is time to seek new challenges and environments that offer the creative stimulation I need for my next chapter.”
Recalling his final day on set, he added, “We shot my murder sequence. As always, I gave it my best. All credit goes to my director, Arshad Khan. Because of him, I was able to perform the way I did… he is the best.”
When asked about Sanika Amit’s reaction to his exit, he said, “We had a good conversation. She understood my concerns and future plans. Of course, she was happy for me… but she also said, ‘You were my first hero,’ and that was really special.”
Addressing his disappointed fans, Sshubham shared, “I know they’re upset, but they also know how repetitive the track had become. I can’t keep doing something that feels the same for too long. I tried my best, but I felt I was done. I don’t call them fans—they’re my boy gang. They support me no matter what, whether I perform well or not. They’ll see me soon in something new. I’ll keep performing for them.”
