Sidharth Malhotra opens up about Kiara Advani’s beautiful journey into motherhood

Actor Sidharth Malhotra discussed his early experience with fatherhood and praised his wife, Kiara Advani, as a "superhero" for the immense strength and resilience she demonstrated while navigating the physical and hormonal changes of pregnancy and postpartum life after the birth of their daughter, Saraayah.

MUMBAI: Actor Sidharth Malhotra has offered an intimate glimpse into his new life as a parent, revealing that his wife, Kiara Advani, is the true "superhero" of their house following the arrival of their daughter, Saraayah.

The couple welcomed their baby girl on July 15, 2025, and recently shared her name and first picture publicly on social media.

Speaking at a recent public event, Sidharth openly praised his wife’s resilience, noting that becoming a father has been an "eye-opening experience."

He emphasised that he has gained immense respect for his wife after observing her journey through pregnancy and childbirth.

Sidharth stated, "I realise that I am no longer the hero of the house. She is the superstar. She is four months old."

He then delivered a heartfelt tribute to his wife, saying, "My wife is the superhero.

The process of seeing her through pregnancy and birth is an eye-opening experience.

Men talk about courage and strength, but women actually demonstrate it when they become mothers."

The actor detailed that Kiara navigated the emotional and "hormonal and physical changes" associated with motherhood with profound strength.

He added that his role, by comparison, is minor, stating he is "contributing a little by changing diapers, clicking pictures, or just keeping a happy environment."

Sidharth also revealed the meaning behind his daughter’s name, Saraayah, which he noted is not Indian but an "exotic name that comes from the East."

He confirmed that Saraayah is a Hebrew name meaning "Princess of God."

He also jokingly shared the challenge of adjusting to having a new boss, noting he has "never lost so many arguments to someone who can't speak," referring to his four-month-old.

Sidharth and Advani married in February 2023. They decided to make their daughter's name public recently, with Sidharth explaining, "We were thinking whether we should announce it or not.

Because there is no need to announce in every house. But then we thought it was fine and decided to make it official."
