MUMBAI: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the popular Star Plus show produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut, has achieved a remarkable milestone by completing 5000 episodes on 3 December. Now in its fourth generation, the series has showcased many emotional twists and turns, with each era bringing a fresh storyline that has kept viewers engaged for years.
The show began with newcomers Hina Khan and Karan Mehra as Akshara and Naitik. After a long run, the story took a leap, introducing Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan as the new leads. Another leap later brought Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda to the forefront. Following the third major leap, the current lead pair is Samridhhi Shukla and Rohit Purohit as Abhira and Armaan.

To celebrate the 5000-episode milestone, Star Plus released a special montage featuring all the generations of the show. However, fans quickly noticed that Harshad Chopda’s character, Abhimanyu, was missing from the third-generation segment. This upset many viewers, who felt that his significant contribution to the show went unacknowledged.
