MUMBAI: Bigg Boss Season 19 continues to rule television ratings, keeping viewers hooked with its fiery clashes, emotional breakthroughs, and ever-changing dynamics inside the house.
As the season races towards its dramatic conclusion, excitement is at an all-time high with the winner set to be revealed in just a few days.
Amaal Mallik, the renowned Indian music director, composer, and singer, became the centre of scrutiny during a charged press conference that kicked off the finale week of Bigg Boss 19.
The musician, known for his work in films such as M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Kabir Singh, spent the afternoon robustly defending his headline-making behaviour throughout the season, including claims of threatening contestants, accusations of being "obsessed" with co-contestant Tanya Mittal, and his on-air comment about his father, Daboo Malik.
Amaal Mallik insisted that his reactions within the highly pressurised Bigg Boss house were not exaggerated merely for the show, stating, "You do end up reacting a certain way in the heat of the moment in this house, but in real life, Amaal Mallik is also like this."
He maintained that this assertive nature is inherent to his personality, confirming he would push back aggressively even outside the house.
"I would have threatened someone outside also if they poked me; it didn’t matter how big or small that person was, I would give it back," he stated. He added that he follows his heart, regardless of whether people approve of his perspective.
Acknowledging his public persona, he noted that he is often called the "Kabir Singh of music" and accepts that his "controversy will appear" before his music when someone searches his name online because he has always been vocal and taken a firm stand on everything.
He also revealed that he had warned his family that they could "distance themselves" if they felt his conduct ever negatively affected them.
Amaal was also pressed to explain why he called his father, Daboo Malik, a "failure" on national television.
He clarified that his comment was not meant as an insult but to highlight the value of setbacks.
He explained, “There is no harm in being a failure; had my father not failed, I wouldn’t have had the hunger and passion to succeed."
He further added that he made the statement to counteract the false perception that the Malik surname automatically grants easy opportunities, emphasising his need to prove that his success was not handed to him on a platter.
The heated press interaction officially signalled the start of the finale week. The Bigg Boss 19 grand finale is scheduled to stream on 7 December at 9 pm on Jio Hotstar.
