Ahan Shetty salutes the silent strength of the Indian Navy during his visit to INS Surat on Indian Navy Day

MUMBAI: Ahan Shetty marked Indian Navy Day with a heartfelt tribute after visiting INS Surat, calling the experience one that left a profound impact on him. The visit offered him a closer look at the discipline, responsibility and quiet courage that define the Indian Navy—qualities he believes often go unnoticed despite forming the backbone of India’s maritime safety.

In his post on social media, Ahan shared his reflection in a single, stirring note: “An absolute honour to be able to visit INS Surat with the captain himself, Capt. Sandeep Shorey. A lot of people don’t realise the role the Indian Navy plays in safeguarding our borders. Their duty isn’t just at sea, it extends into every silent mile they patrol, every long night spent away from home, and every responsibility they hold without ever asking for recognition.

Witnessing the discipline, focus and quiet courage of the officers on board was incredibly humbling. These men and women stand strong so we can sleep peacefully, they protect waters we may never see, and they carry a sense of duty that goes far beyond a uniform.

We often speak of patriotism, but I got to witness what it looks like in its purest form. Service without expectation, resilience without complaint, and sacrifice made with pride. I left INS Surat with a renewed respect for our Navy, for every sailor who chooses the nation before themselves, and for the unseen strength that keeps India safe. Happy navy day. Jai Hind. Jai Bharat 🇮🇳

Ahan’s message resonated widely, not only for its sincerity but for the reminder it carries—of the men and women who commit to service without fanfare, who hold vigil so that citizens can rest with a sense of security. With Border 2, Ahan steps into one of the most anticipated projects in his filmography.
