Benjamin Gelani to appear in Hadsaa

Last seen in Sony’s Aisa Des Hai Mera, veteran actor Benjamin Gelani is returning to TV, albeit for an episodic appearance on Zee TV’s weekend show Zindagi Badal Sakta Hai Hadsaa. The actor categorically states, “It’s not a return to television but just an episodic appearance. I have worked with BP Singh (Hadsaa director) before. He made a request and I couldn’t turn him down.” Elaborating on his character, he says, “I’m playing the role of Pratap, a father, who’s going through a real difficult phase in his life. His son has got brain tumor while food poisoning leaves his daughter, who aspires to be a doctor, paralysed. Such circumstances see him commit a sin. You’ll know more when you see the show.” While he was missing from television for a long time, Benjamin doesn’t think he’d ever quit or took a sabbatical from the small screen. He chides, “I chose to stay away from television as I wasn’t happy with the kind of work that was being offered to me. Unfortunately, in recent years, when something good came my way, the show didn’t generate enough TRPs. Nevertheless, I’m open to taking up any meaningful project.”
