Aditya Redij, better known as Raghav of Naa Aana Iss Des Laado is happy being part of the show. He has a fetish for many things and loves to take on challenging roles. He talks to TellyChakkar about his positive and negative qualities, the characters he admires and his childhood craze for Mowgli. Why did you decide to debut in Naa Aana Iss Des Laado considering it’s more about Ammaji? My role has been done justice to. It has turned out the way it was narrated to me. I played a romantic boy and then my character matured with time. I think no other show would have given me a character with so many variations. I took it up because it had different sides to it. To prove your talent with just one character is different but this one gives me the freedom. I know there is Ammaji but I feel Ram Ko Ram banana ke liye Ravan ki zaroorat thi! So the other characters are equally important in the show. Besides I have always said that I do not want to be a hero I just want to be a character and that's what I am doing. Heroes are Superman, Batman and Spiderman, the rest are just simple people. What kind of roles do you wish to play? Those that challenge my ability to act! Be it 70-yr-old or 17, if my height fits into it I will do it. Which character would you like to play? I would love to play Iron Man, he is a hero! (Laughs) Talking about serials there are a number of characters I would love to do. I like Veer and Vansh's characters in Uttaran, Dutta’s in Laagi Tujhse Lagan. Have you ever played pranks on anyone? Actually I do crack a lot of jokes on the sets, people call it my sense of humour and I call it sense of non-sense humour. I think my co-stars have a good sense of humour because they are sweet enough to laugh at anything I say. Who are your closest buddies on the sets? I talk to everyone. So, there is no one buddy as such. There are a lot of actors in Laado and the times when all of us are on the sets together it is like a big family reunion. There are problems but they can be ignored as they happen everywhere. I remember once 11 people were having food together in my vanity van and all actors. Some were standing and some were sitting on the steps! Did your parents ever scold you while you were young? Once I had broken my hand. Then I was young and we had this Mowgli craze then. And while we had our break in school we started playing Mowgli, obviously with our clothes on (laughs). Anyways once the game started I fell down and broke my left arm. Then my parents scolded me for doing things and hurting myself. But I continued to be mischievous. Otherwise they never scolded me much except for studies. What are your plus points and negative points? Plus I don’t know but negative is I can't wake up in the morning! But thanks to the show I have started. Earlier while I was in college I would never get up before 11 but now I also wake up around 4 am for my shoots. I am very friendly, I get attached very soon and if someone tells me something I get easily hurt too. Your on-chemistry with Natasha Sharma is talked about, how is it off-screen? It’s healthy friendship, when you spend one-and-a-half year with someone you get attached. But, there has to be a balance because you have to work together at the end of the day. Are you dating anyone? If I was dating anyone people would have known by now. I obviously wouldn't go out publicly saying I’m dating but I guess it will be out. You have this fetish for gadgets… I like a lot of mechanical things like I even like watches. I remember while I was in college my dad used to give me 2000 rupees as pocket money which would eventually turn into 3000. As I would spend it all before even the month ended. I used to study in Pune and there was this place called the Honkong lane; I would buy watches for 200-300 rupees out of my pocket money from there. I would collect them and there was a time when I had 25 watches. You seem to like a lot of things. So, give us a list of your likings? Gadgets, watches, glares, shoes, movies, I also love eating. You name it and I like it. Do you also like cooking? Yes, I won Kitchen Champion. Actually they told me, ‘You have to do all this and I did it’ and it turned out to be good. I am a quick learner. You get a fancy phone and I will know how it functions in an hour’s time. Not to forget I have this photography craze too. I would love to put up an exhibition some day!
