By the time I am 35 I would join commercial airlines once again! Vishal Karwal

Vishal Karwal
Vishal Karwal made his mark on the Indian television with the MTV show Roadies and since then there has been no looking back for the actor. The actor who is now seen in Bhagyavidhaata will soon be seen in a new avatar in a new show Rishton Se Badi Pratha on Colors. Tellychakkar caught up with this busy star to know about his journey so far... How would you describe your journey on Indian television till date? It was unpredictable because I had never planned on getting into acting or even take up fiction. I had never done any acting course as such too. I did Roadies, then Spiltsvilla after which I got an offer to host Couplesutra on MTV. I had come back to Mumbai for just three months to promote Couplesutra but at the end of that period I was offered Bhagyavidhata. I took up the show because back home my friends who were in Aviation too did not have jobs and they were working in call centers. So, I grabbed the opportunity that came my way and now as I am leaving Bhagyavidhaata; I have Rishton Se Badi Pratha. I have been very lucky compared to others as I never thought of coming to Mumbai and making my career here like the rest but yet I have made it. I did not have to go around showing my portfolio. You have got a lead role once again in Rishton Se Badi Pratha. How is it working for this show? This is my second show as a lead in fiction and I consider this to be a big achievement. I do not consider myself an actor but Colors believed in me and gave me Rishton Se Badi Pratha.. And, I like doing shows on Colors because they have issue based shows. I cannot say much about the story but till now things are going well. Why did you decide to walk out of Bhagyavidhata? There was a generation leap to take place and I did not want to look like a 40 year old. I wouldn’t look like a 40 year old any ways, I decided to walk out. If you got an opportunity to be a part of a reality show which one would it be? Roadies, I would like to shoot for it once more. I don’t mind being a part of its grand finale. What are your views on shows like Bigg Boss? I do not know how to react on it because you see well established people making it on this show but they behave like uncivilized people. Their behavior really disappoints me. But more than that there is so much of negativity that they have all the time. The vibes that you get even while watching this show are so negative. I do not know why they keep fighting all the time whether it’s scripted or they are just like that. I like Rahul (Bhatt) for he does not behave like the rest. And I really have no idea what the rest of them up to? When do we see your boarding school coming up? I have already bought the land but I need at least one and a half year to actually go there and get the work done on my own. The problem is that my family has a jewellery showroom and they are usually busy so I’ll only have to go and do the work. There a lot of things that I will have to do before I bring up the boarding. I need to get permission too and I want it to look like a resort and not any other boarding. I want the kids to enjoy staying there. But, the thing is I am have shows to do and hardly have so much time in hand, I don’t see it happening any time soon. Do you have any plans for your aviation career? I don’t see myself doing TV for life for there is lot of struggle in this industry and I wouldn’t want to be struggling throughout my life. I will do it till I am happy with it and by the time I am 35 I would join commercial airlines ones again. I will be 25 next month so, I have some more time. I have my license with me so, even if I don’t get a job in some commercial airline I would fly for leisure. And, once I am married I will take my wife on a flight. If you were ship wrecked on an Island with your friends and you had to party how you would make it happen? It basically depends on the number of girls and guys with me. But, if I had to have my Punjabi friends with me they could have made some whisky since they know how to make local whisky. So, we would have whisky to drink and for food as we have the sea we would have a lot of fish. I would have enjoyed it the most since I am a hard core non-vegetarian. The theme of the party would have been jungle and every body would have dressed in leaves. Are you dating anybody? No I am single. (smiles) Have you ever tried approaching a girl? No I have never and I find it really stupid on other guy’s part to even do that. I feel you just need to be yourself rather than go and prove yourself in front of a girl. For this kind of guys do all sort of things and once the girl says yes they back out. I’d rather be me and let the person like me and then be with her forever. Do you have a check list for your ideal girl? I think the check list thing is really stupid because nobody is perfect. I might have ten things that she won’t like about me and 20 other things that she’d like about me. So, you need not have a check list. What would you like to say your Tellychakkar fans? Thanks for everything and keep loving me.
