Grey Matter Entertainment's 'Heroes' to air from 14 November on Star Sports 3; first episode to have Sachin Tendulkar as guest

Grey Matter Entertainment
Ever wondered how your cricketing heroes would be like when placed among a group of kids all of whom are within the naughty and playful age group of 7 -14. Heroes, a chat show conceptualized and produced by Grey Matter Entertainment proposes to discover just that. In this show, one would get to see their favourite cricketing icons at their candid best as they take not just cricket related questions from the young guns of this country but also manage to indulge the kids by letting their hair down. Imagine, cricket’s current heartthrob Virat Kohli teaching kids how to get it right not just on the cricket ground but also on the dance floor by doing the famous Gangnam style. Unique, isn’t it? Well, Heroes promises this and much more to its audience. The idea for this brilliant chat show was mooted by Grey Matter Entertainment, arguably the biggest and most credible live sports production company in our country today. The company is helmed by three creative brains namely Rahul Sarangi, Chandradev Bhagat & Payal Mathur Bhagat. We spoke to one of the co-owners Rahul Sarangi to get an in-depth perspective about the show. “Our company had this dream of creating an interactive chat show where kids who are essentially the torch bearers of our next generation could interact with the biggest cricketing icons around the globe. Through Heroes, it is our endeavour to give kids that platform. Here kids with dreams in their eyes will meet and interact with their cricketing hero who will inspire them,” explained Rahul. Grey Matter Entertainment has partnered with Smaaash and Star Sports for this particular venture. When asked to throw light on how this germ of idea came into existence, Rahul said, “We were in talks with Star Sports about doing a chat show after completing the Indian Badminton league. The creative heads at Star and all three of us at Grey Matter put on the thinking caps and finally after a good amount of brainstorming, we came up with the concept of engaging kids and cricketers together and creating an inspirational show without making it preachy. So in this show, you will see Sachin in our opening episode demonstrating to a 10-year old kid how to play the spinning deliveries of Warne. You see the kids have a dream and their own hero will give them the inspiration to fulfill that dream. That is what Heroes is all about.” Heroes will also show a never before seen avatar of our cricketers or as Rahul says the ‘non-cricketing side’ of them. So while Virat Kohli will show kids how to dance to the tunes of Gangnam style, Raina will be showing off his culinary skills. Sri Lankan cricketer Sangakkara who is also a part of the series will play a violin for the eager kids. Now that’s something not just kids but even adults would be interested in watching, we feel. And given the fact that the show has been conceptualized and produced by Grey Matter Entertainment which has been a pioneer sports entertainment company (Grey matter holds the exclusive production rights of Indian Badminton League, Sri Lankan Premiere League, Afghan Premier League) we are sure Heroes would make for a riveting watch both for children and adults alike. The first episode of Heroes featuring ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar will be beamed on Star Sport 3 at 7 pm on 14 November. So for those who want more of Sachin mania after the Test match ends in the evening, you know which channel you should tune into. Have a blast!!!
