MUMBAI: Veteran actress Shilpa Shirodkar, known for her memorable performances in Hindi cinema throughout the 1990s, has once again found herself in the spotlight this time, not for her screen presence, but for putting long standing rumours to rest.
Shilpa, who took a 13-year hiatus from acting to focus on family life after getting married and relocating to London, made a successful comeback in 2013 with the Zee TV drama Ek Mutthi Aasmaan. Following a brief return to television, she stepped away from the limelight once again until recently.
The actress made waves with her entry into Bigg Boss Season 18, where her camaraderie with fellow contestants Karanveer and Vivian won hearts.

In a recent interview, the actress finally addressed the much-discussed rumours that linked her romantically with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Setting the record straight, Shilpa recounted how she first met the cricketer during her time filming Hum.
“I met Sachin for the first time when I was shooting for Hum. He used to live near my cousin brother in Bandra East, and they used to play cricket together,” she shared. “At that time, Sachin was already in a relationship with Anjali, though it wasn’t publicly known. We were just friends, but since I was an actress and he was already a rising cricket star, people were quick to make assumptions. The truth is, I only met him once.”
With grace and candour, Shilpa dismissed the old rumours as mere speculation, confirming there was never any romantic involvement between her and Tendulkar.
