Remo Fernandes switches track from music to acting

Remo Fernandes
Remember Remo Fernandes rocked our hearts with his crooning of Humma Humma in Mani Ratnam’s Bombay, that later earned him a double platinum. The erstwhile singer from Goa has decided to change tracks and take to acting. No, he is not playing a musician or a crooner in the film but is playing Sidharth Malhotra’s boss in The Villain. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures the film stars Sidharth, Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. And ever since the film’s announcement recently, Ekta Kapoor has been springing one surprise after another. Firstly, she announced the roping in of Riteish Deshmukh and Amrita Puri to play negative roles in the film. And for a surprise Sidharth will be doing lot of stunt sequences as he is playing the title role of the villain. One of India's magnetic stage performers and pop icon, Remo Fernandes, has found a new profession at the age of 60 — acting. While he has reportedly played a role in Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, we have now learnt that he will be playing Sidharth Malhotra's boss in Mohit Suri's The Villain. Then the producer also signed in Kamaal R. Khan to do an extended cameo. And as for Shraddha, both director Mohit Suri and Ekta were sure that the actress was best suited to essay the role of the lead actress, The film that is currently being shot in Goa is scheduled to release on 20 June next year.
