This year TV industry saw a new wave of change with popular shows coming back to the tube with a second season. The trend of seasons is popular in the International arena, but when it comes to Indian shows, they believe in dragging the story and carrying it for years together.
But this welcome change has indeed brought freshness in the television industry and we can only hope that the trend will only catch wheels in the near future. Seasons add novelty to the plot and also help in natural story progression without making the concept mundane.
Here we give you a lowdown of all the shows that brought its second season this year as part of our Year Ender series of articles. Do go ahead to vote for your favourite show (season 2) in our poll section. (List arranged alphabetically)
Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon…Ek Baar Phir (Sphere Origins) – The show IPKKND made demi-Gods out of Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti and hence the channel (Star Plus) decided to bring back the brand, but in a different avatar. The season two was churned out from a different production house (earlier was 4 Lions) and had a different cast and storyline-only the theme of a love-hate relation between the leads remained the same. Starring Avinash Sachdeva and Shrenu Parikh the show is slowly and steadily setting a foothold in the competitive line of shows on-air currently.
Lapataganj-Phir Ek Baar (Garima Productions) – The second season of this SAB TV show has taken a six year leap and now the villagers are enjoying a little better lifestyle. The houses from the first season have gone for a makeover, with fans and improved walls surrounding them. Also the clothes are better, but what stays intact is the true bond of all the villagers who manage to be together through thick and thin. Also with new characters coming in, the show is doing well like its previous season.
Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha 2 (Sunshine Production) ¬– Well, this show on Colors gained immense popularity with the pair Mohan (Kunal Karan Kapoor) and Megha (Akansha Singh) becoming the darlings of the viewers. When the show went off, the fans were hopping mad and their constant yearning to get the show back led to Na Bole season 2. With a leap in the plot, the viewers did like the show, but somewhere the magic of the first part was missing. But nevertheless, a lot of talented actors have managed to come forth via this project.
Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed (Sashi Sumeet Productions Pvt Ltd) – This show on Zee TV also treaded the same path like the first on our list. Retaining the show’s title, the makers brought out the second season with the same theme of re-marriage. Although it had a great cast of Karan Grover, Srishti Rode and Rubina Dilaik (who got later replaced by Parul Chauhan) the show never managed to do well in the number game, and soon had to be wrapped up in haste. Well, this is a season 2 gone wrong completely.
Sanskaar Dharohar Apnon Ki (Cinematra / Anahita Productions) – Although the show never did well, fans of its lead hero Jai Soni pleaded, requested and commanded for a second season, and voila! it did come back. The show’s second season is faring miserably at the rating fronts and with a six year leap, the heroine waved farewell, to pave way for two new faces in Jay’s life. But the Vaishnav family is still vying on their path of truthfulness and righteous deeds.
The Buddy Project- Now in College (Sunshine Productions) –This was an evident move when the buddies moved from school to college in this Channel V’s popular show. The fans were eager to see their favourite young actors out of their school uniform and dressed in fashionable casuals as they entered a media college. True to the storyline, the bonding between the group members remains strong as ever, but added to it is some fresh romance between them. This is one show that is still doing in season 2.
So here is the list of the shows that got back with season 2. Which one is your favourite? Hit the poll section and vote for your favourite among them and help them win. Click on the link to vote http://www.tellychakkar.com/fun-zone/poll/vote-your-favourite-season-2-show
