Nirisha Basnett on working with Adah sharma and learning stunts for her show - EXCLUSIVE

Nirisha

MUMBAI: 1. Your show Reeta Sanyal that just released and is getting mixed reviews but your character in particular iis getting a lot of eyerolls and is much talked about. How does it feel?Yes the reviews are mixed but it's still trending as the most watched shows in India right now. So I guess the show is loved by the majority and that's all that matters.
I am very thankful and I appreciate all the good reviews for my work. It motivates me enough to stay on my path and focus on important things that align to my career dreams. I haven't let it get into my head. The appreciation and fame is only by product. What truly matters to me is being happy in what I do and I loved every minute on set portraying the character of Zii.

2. To be doing a lot of action and it does not seem easy. Did you not get scared or any accident on sets ?I wasn't scared. I was 100% looking forward to doing it after all I have been training in martial arts for a long time. I was definitely prepared mentally. But I honestly didn't know that it would be physically so demanding in spite of having rehearsed and the entire crew on standby. The 2 minutes of footage that you see is like 6-12 hours of shoot. Sometimes 2-3 days of shooting.Luckily no accident but I did realize that I have a fear of heights while shooting. There was a particular scene where I had to jump from the top of a building. I had harness on, and safety measures were all on point. It took us 3 days to complete the scene . I just couldn't jump. I was shivering like Shaggy from Scooby Dooby Doo.
3. How was it working with Adah sharma? Well she has a good sense of humor and is a wonderful actor. I never had the courage to watch The Kerela Story. I watched it during our shooting days. When I finished watching it, I went and hugged her.   I got huge respect for her after I watched her recent work .
 4. Any anecdotes with her that you can remember which you can mention  ?So one day she distributed chocolates to everyone on set. I asked her what the occasion is  and to that she replied that she is pregnant. I got so emotional and hugged her and congratulated her because I didn't even know that she was even married. When she saw that I was too overwhelmed with the news, she had to break it and say that it was all a joke.  See is funny but I guess I am too naive to get her jokes. hahah .

4. Who did you get along best with on sets ?
Abhirup Ghosh-our director. He is the sweetest guy. He has so much patience, does not scream or shout unlike many other directors. He is full of encouraging words and gives so much of freedom to actos to bring their personal touch in the character. Adah Sharma calls him Buddha for a reason. I got along with him from day 1 and in my other interviews also I have mentioned that he is a house of positivity and motivation.
