Sab TV launched two comedies today which will go on air next week.
Ring Wrong Riing is a tri-weekly (Mondays to Wednesdays) as reported earlier by TellyChakkar and will air from the 13th and Gili Gili Gappa, touted to be a ‘magical’ comedy, will take off on the 16th as a bi-weekly (Thursday-Friday) both at 7.30 pm, a new slot introduced by the channel.
Said Anooj Kapoor, Business Head, Sab, “These shows are light-hearted. Our recently launched Jaankhilavan Jasoos turned out good for us. After India’s first court-room drama (Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai), first silent comedy (Gutur Gu), first detective-comedy (JJ), we decided to go for these two shows which are obviously not being made for the ‘first’ time, but will definitely be fresh, as we currently don’t have shows of this genre.”
The cast of these shows retains almost every actor, who played pivotal roles in earlier Sab shows, which helped the channel cement its position among other popular GEC’s. Asif Sheikh (Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai and Yes Boss), Rakesh Bedi and Delnaaz Paul (both were seen in Yess Boss), Muskaan Mihani (Jugni Chali Jhalandar) and Varun Badola (Sonu Sweety) are part of the cast of the two shows.
Shweta Gulati, who started off her career with Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar and Remix, will be seen in Gili Gili Gappa. Delnaaz too has returned to TV after some time while Shoma Anand seen in the popular comic series Hum Paanch and Shararat also returns to comedy with Gili Gili. Rohitash Gaur, currently seen in the channel’s Lapataganj plays Professor Pyarelal and Shekhar Shukla of FIR will play Pencil Pandey respectively in Gili Gili Gappa. Child actors Almaas Atif and Arshiya are part of the cast too.
Looks like Sab is having a reunion of sorts with all its present and past actors.
