Abhay Deol's "eye grabbing" publicity stunt

Trust actors to innovate when they need grand publicity. When Abhay Deol landed at Screen Awards sporting a black bruised eye, sympathies veered towards him. Rumours of him having been hit by the officials of the record label with whom Abhay is currently involved in an ugly fracas, started doing the rounds. His manager too texted us saying Abhay is alright when we enquired about his health. But finally it turns out to be all fart and no shit affair. The black eye was not the result of an injury that Abhay sustained in any scuffle as was led to believe earlier, instead it was the handiwork of his make-up artist and a unique way of protesting against the alleged dictatorial ways of the record label. Here's Abhay's version: “My black eye- So last night I went to the Screen awards sporting a black eye. It was my way of saying visually (and symbolically) that my film's marketing has taken a hit. The make up was faded by the time I took these pictures. But my resolve has not. I got so many messages from the music fraternity thanking me. I saw so many people write on twitter that they support me. Thank you all for the encouragement! We have a long way to go to bring power to the people. WE SHALL OVERCOME.” Well, if Abhay was intending to garner eyeballs with his black eye, he sure succeeded in doing so. A super publicity stunt, we say.
