Tapasya essayed by Rashmi Desai in Uttaran was my dream role - Shritama Mukherjee

 Shritama Mukherjee
The beautiful and gorgeous Shritama Mukherjee who was extremely creative and expressive from childhood never dreamt of making it to the word of glitz and glamour. However, destiny had something else in store for her. A very good singer, Shritama first debuted in Antakshari – The Great Challenge during her 8th standard which set her on the pathway to success. She later got back as an actor with Dekha Ek Khwaab. Her love for acting made her drop her graduation too. Says Shritama, “Well, I had never thought of taking up acting. It just happened when I participated in Antakshari – The Great Challenge when the Producer Gajendra Singh recognised my potential and pushed me to take a step ahead into acting. My father would not allow me to leave my hometown Kota and struggle for work in Mumbai. But luck favoured me when I got my first break into acting through my debut show.” Talking about her dream role, the lovely Shritama went on to say how she had already accomplished her dream as a debutant itself. “Back in my hometown, when I saw the Colors show Uttaran, I simply loved watching the character of Tapasya essayed by Rashmi Desai. I knew this was my dream role and that one day I will essay a role as unique as hers. I was bowled over when I was offered the same kind of role in my first show, Dekha Ek Khwaab.” Having worked in shows such as Channel V’s Best Friends Forever and Life OK’s Do Dil Ek Jaan, the beautiful lady goes on to define the industry as a whole. The gorgeous actress avers, “This is an awesome industry to be in. I have heard stories about casting couch and one cannot deny of it being non-existent. Having said that, I would like to add that one rotten apple deteriorates the entire basket. As strugglers what actors need to be cautious of, is the company they choose to mingle in. It is very important how you present yourself in front of people, as that gives a signal of how receptive you are to such false practices.” Well said, Shritama!!!
