“I would not want my daughter to pursue acting.” - Pooja Kanwal

Pooja Kanwal
Unlike many actors on television today, the beautiful Pooja Kanwal is one who has had a leap from films to television. Having acted in films such as Uuf Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai and some South, Punjabi and Hinglish films the super charming actress retorted to debuting in television with Palampur Express and then went on to do Sasural Genda Phool, Na Bole Tum... Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Sanskaar - Dharohar Apno Ki. According to Pooja, she always aspired to act in television shows than films just like her mother Anita Kanwal, who is a talented woman. Says Pooja, “I always aspired to do a nice television serial, but films just came my way when I was 17 years old. My films were not much of a hit and as soon as I got an opportunity I switched over to television shows. I always wanted to essay three kinds of roles, which were my dream roles – a negative character such as a schizophrenic, a role where I could execute my dancing abilities and a comedy role. In fact comedy has been my forte right from the start.” The pretty lady believes that there is already too much stress in the world and with the evolution of comedy as a genre, there can be nothing better to entertain people via comedy shows. The pretty lady who is living a happy married life has a one year old daughter, Avika and though she does not want to put limitations to her choice of career, she does not want her to pursue the career she and her mother chose for herself. “Tell me one industry in this world which works 30 days a month with no time certainty. It is only our industry. We work for 18 to 20 hours a day and it is too much of stress to take. I got into this industry and I am happy with the work I do, but I would not want my daughter to pursue acting,” she expresses. That was indeed impressive, Pooja!!!
