I have never felt insecure about other newcomers - Arjun Kapoor

Bollywood is not a place for the faint-hearted. Here your fortunes keep on flickering every Friday and you are only as good as your last hit. And at a time when new faces are entering the industry by dozens, it is not uncommon to feel insecure. But not Arjun Kapoor! Coming from a film family and having got his basics strong, Arjun comes across as self confident and sure-footed actor who has never felt insecure about other newcomers. When we checked if any sense of insecurity has ever crept into his mind after looking at other promising newcomers, Arjun confidently denied the same. “I would have felt insecure had I not been confident about my own abilities. I have never felt insecure about others entering the industry. But yes, I feel insecure everyday in terms of whether I am giving my best take or not, whether I am doing a good job or not. In this profession complacency sets in easily because fans keep saying how much they love you all the time and you have this tendency of resting on your laurels. That insecurity is there and I hope I don’t slip and fall.” Arjun also feels he is still too new to be bothered about any competition from his contemporaries. “It’s a very long race. We are very young and very new. Right now we have to learn how to walk well in this industry. So let me find my own feet and then I will look at the competition and race that is happening in the industry.” With Gunday having fared decently at the box-office, the Kapoor lad is now gearing up for 2 States. And on the career front, he does think now is the right time to be in Bollywood. “It is a great time to be in this profession. On my personal behalf, to do a Gunday and 2 States in one year itself shows the two different kinds of films that we are getting to do. It’s a great time for everybody, I guess,” said Arjun. Well, let’s hope 2 States too, brings in more cheer for Arjun Kapoor.
