Bollywood bigwigs, accompanied by an underprivileged (children) audience often grace the grand finale of reality shows and other contests. However, <em> The Great Indian laughter Challenge 3</em> chose a different route. Aamchi Mumbai's hard working traffic policemen paid visit to the grand final of <em> TGILC,</em>. not to patrol but as part of the audience.

Bollywood bigwigs, accompanied by an underprivileged (children) audience often grace the grand finale of reality shows and other contests. However, The Great Indian laughter Challenge 3 chose a different route. Aamchi Mumbai's hard working traffic policemen paid visit to the grand final of TGILC,. not to patrol but as part of the audience. When asked why they called traffic policemen, TGILC director Pankaj Saraswat replied, "This initiative was taken by Bombay police themselves. For long, our traffic police have been helplessly fighting against the drunken driving issue. They took this opportunity to spread the 'don't drink and drive' message. We were happy to oblige." The director added that they didn't accept their request so as to spread their (Mumbai police) message but they wanted to entertain the pandus (a term used to address Mumbai's traffic policemen). "Our traffic policemen are very hard working. In fact, even when Mumbai police organises its own shows, our poor man is required to do the patrolling. There hardly is any occasion when they can afford to relax.. This was an ideal opportunity to entertain them." said Pankaj. While our pandus must have thoroughly enjoyed themselves, we just hope that TGILC 3 contestants didn't have to pay any chalan.
