Her long wait has finally paid off…..and how! Daljit Kaur aka Niyati of Kulvaddhu fame has been roped in for not just one, but two major shows. The first project is Star Plus' Chuna Hain Aasmaan - a sequel to Saara Akaash, opposite none other than the dashing Iqbal Khan and the second one's a thriller, Ek Din Achanak to be aired on a premiere channel. "I can now confirm that I'll be doing Miditech's Chuna Hain….. The shooting will commence on July 16th and we are expecting the show to hit the airwaves by August end or first week of September. Unfortunately, that's all I can reveal as I'm under a contract. As far as Ek Din…goes, once again I can't divulge much, except that I am eagerly awaiting the launch of this show that it will be aired on a big channel," says a delighted Daljit. While this Punjabi kudi chose to keep mum about the details of her character in Chuna Hain…., a little birdie has pegged us her role is completely different from that in her maiden show, Kulvaddhu, where she was seen as a seedhi-sadhi sacrificing bahu. In this Miditech project, she plays an uptown urban girl. The theme of Chuna Hain…. is on the lines of Saara Akaash, revolving around the lives of army officers, however this time around a younger cast has been roped in. Expressing her joy on being associated with the show, Daljit chirps, "My father was an army officer and my two sisters are air force pilots. Though, I couldn't be like them, I'm glad that I'll be acting in a show that's based on this defense profession". She adds, "I consider myself lucky as I'm being offered diverse roles. Often, we have very limited choice and thus have to accept whatever comes our way." Seems the girl has matured with time! It truly is a good time for our Sardarni, both professionally and personally. Not only has her career taken off on a positive note, she is also pleased to have her parents staying with her in Mumbai. The actor, who confesses being a good cook, is currently feasting on the delicacies prepared by her mom. This enables her to devote her time to other activities like net surfing, listening to music. "I've been relaxing for quite some time now, so, before I start working endlessly again, I want to make the best use of my free time," giggles Daljit.
