The audience is longing to watch seasoned television actors again: Manav Gohil

MUMBAI: Manav Gohil is blessed with an inherent acting talent akin to a chameleon. He continues to astound all with his versatile acting prowess.

He has amassed one accolade after another with his hit TV shows namely Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Saara Akaash, The Buddy Project, Yam Hain Hum, Tenali Rama and many more.

Manav has always managed to hit a sweet spot in the audience's heart each time. He is definitely getting stronger with every new project.  Manav will soon be in Star Plus’ new show ‘Shaadi Mubarak’. The show also stars talented actresses Rajshree Thakur and Rajeshwari Sachdev.

In a chat with Manav, the actor shared why mature love stories are always liked by viewers. He shared, “Well, I think people are longing to watch seasoned television actors again. They want to see some real romance. Actors like me, Rajshree and Rajeshwari have certain recall values. I think people these days want some fresh content on TV. Viewers still have the appetite to watch love stories but with the whiff of freshness. Shaadi Mubarak was awaiting a project for all of us. We were supposed to begin shooting in March however due to pandemic it got delayed. People are liking the show and have received great response from the masses.”

On reuniting with Rajshree after 10 years, Manav said, “Well, the show we did 10 years back she played a cameo in it but I still remember a scene which was her death sequence and she performed brilliantly. She is a very quiet girl but very friendly and it is lovely to work with her again.”

Do you think actors from your era like Shweta Tiwari, Varun Badola, Rupali Ganguly amongst others are finally getting roles which are substantial and different? “Yes, people are welcoming this certain change once again. Before taking up this project I spoke to Shweta Tiwari and she told me that now is the time for me to do a love story and portray the character like KT. So, I feel the timing is right and definitely people are wanting to see us once again in a different way. I haven’t received a single message which would say that aap log abhi love karonge but getting a positive response.”
