Ashwini confirms return as Jigyasa

The word is out. Ashwini Khalsekar, who won lots of accolades last year with her vampish act as Jigyasa in Kasamh Se, is back with this Balaji show. She has quit the Zee daily a few months back and the shoes of her negative character were filled in by Jaya Bhattacharya. When queried earlier, Ashwini chose to keep mum but now she has finally admitted to her return. "I've already shot with them but can't delve into more details, owing to my contractual obligations," said Ashwini.

When quizzed what prompted this comeback the Maharashtrian actor replied, "I always enjoyed playing Jigyasa and was truly missing it when I wasn't part of the show." The actor refuses to indulge into reasons for her initial departure from this Zee daily, but squashes all theories of ego hassles that prompted her to exit then. As for her homecoming, Ashwini says 'It's been really nice. Being Jigyasa again is like coming back home. I share a great rapport with my co-stars." However, she does admit feeling nervous as to whether she can live up to the expectations of the viewers. "People have appreciated my character and I even got an award (The Indian Telly Awards 2006), so they expect the same again. It's this expectation that make me feel nervous" said a panicky Ashwini. When asked when she plans to tie the knot with live-in partner Murli Sharma, the actor says " There are no such plans, I haven't fixed any date but if you have heard one I'll be interested in knowing!"
