MUMBAI: Renowned Indian actor Rahul Ravi, best known for his part in the bilingual Tamil-Kannada show Nandini, has been in the news lately since his wife Lakshmi filed a harassment lawsuit against him. The 2020 married couple is currently involved in a legal battle that has drawn attention from the media.
Lakshmi filed a police report (FIR) accusing Rahul Ravi of harassing her, and the actor allegedly fled. Four states, including Kerala, were included in the two-month search for Ravi that the Chennai Police began. The actor was first granted bail by the Madras High Court, but it was later revoked on finding that the affidavit featured fraudulent material. As such, the court issued an arrest warrant for him.
Rahul Ravi responded by requesting anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court of India through renowned Indian Supreme Court law firm Subash Chandran and Kavitha Law Associates. Throughout the proceedings, Ravi was represented by Subash Chandran and Kavitha Subash. The actor now has legal respite as the Supreme Court granted him anticipatory bail.
Rahul Ravi’s wife, Lakshmi, employed at an international bank in Chennai, filed a harassment case against the actor. The FIR reported that around two in the morning, Ravi was found in his apartment with another woman. Intimate interactions between Rahul Ravi and several women were allegedly had after their marriage, according to the complaint. It is said that Lakshmi went to Ravi's flat with association members after learning of his suspected affair and that she saw him in his bedroom with another woman.
The unhappy pair have been in conflict over the FIR, which was set up on the idea that Ravi was captured without permission. According to several reports, Rahul Ravi and Lakshmi may be thinking about splitting up.
The actors' professional responsibilities have been disrupted by the court procedures. Rahul Ravi was most recently seen in the lead role of Nandamuri Balakrishna in the film Bhagavanth Kesari. The matter has generated extensive media coverage and exposed the actor's private life.
