MUMBAI : On Friday, the Madras High Court fined Mansoor Ali Rs 1 lakh for filing a defamation suit against Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, BJP politician Khushbu, and actress Trisha Krishnan for their comments that were critical of his sexist comments.

The actor had requested court intervention for publicity and the actor was fined Rs 1 lakh to be given to the Adyar Cancer Institute, according to Justice N Satish Kumar. According to the Live Law website, the court further stated that the actors' responses to derogatory comments about women were typical human reactions and did not warrant the filing of a defamation lawsuit.
Khan claimed in an interview that he had signed up for Vijay's 'Leo' thinking he would have "bedroom" sequences with Trisha, but that she was never even shown on the sets. A popular news portal quoted him saying, "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule."
Khushbu Sundar, a BJP leader and member of the National Commission for Women (NCW), has threatened to take action against him. Sundar posted on X, "As a member of NCW, I have already taken up the issue of Mansoor Ali Khan with my senior and will be taking an action on it. Nobody can get away with such a filthy mind. I stand with @trishtrashers and my other colleagues where this man speaks in such a sexist disgusting mindset about them, including me."
The BJP leader added in his post, "When we are fighting tooth and nail to protect women and bring dignity to them, such men are like a bot in our society." Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi gave his support while condemning the comments made by the Tamil actor. He stated, "My attention was drawn to some reprehensible comments made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan about Trisha. The comments are distasteful and disgusting not just for an Artiste but for any woman or girl. These comments must be condemned in the strongest words. They reek of perversion. I stand with @trishtrashers and every woman who has to be subject to such horrid comments." Khan later apologized, but strangely, a few days later, he sent defamation suit to Khushbu, Chiranjeevi, and Trisha.
