MUMBAI: South superstar Vikram who will be next seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan-1 has been admitted to a hospital in Chennai on Friday. As per the media reports, the 56-year-old suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital on Friday morning.
The actor is reportedly stable now and is under observation at the hospital.
As soon as news of Chiyaan Vikram being admitted to a private hospital in Chennai spread, fans of the actor started trending #GetWellSoon and #ChiyaanVikram on Twitter and wished him a speedy recovery.
Vikram, also known as Chiyaan Vikram, was supposed to attend the teaser launch of his upcoming film 'Ponniyin Selvan-1' in the evening today. The teaser is set to release at 6 pm today at a grand event, which will be attended by the team of the film, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sarath Kumar and Trisha.
He was recently seen in Karthik Subbaraj directorial Mahaan, which co-starred his son, actor Dhruv Vikram in the lead. The film premiered on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
Vikram will also be seen in the upcoming film 'Cobra', which is slated to hit the silver screens on August 11. It is helmed by Imaikkaa Nodigal fame director Ajay Gnanamuthu. The cast also includes former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, Srinidhi Shetty, Mirnalini Ravi, KS Ravikumar, and Miya George, among others.
