MUMBAI :Well known Veteran Malayalam actors Mammukoya breathed his last this afternoon at around 1:10 pm as per the Kozhikode hospital staff where the actor was being treated. The actor known for his films like Megham and Sandesam collapsed while attending a function connected with a football tournament in Malappuram district on Monday night. He was then rushed to the hospital.

Earlier, the hospital staff had informed the actor’s family members that the 76 year old’s condition was deteriorating. Mammukoya was previously working in a timber mill at Kozhikode and began his acting career in the theatre in the year1979.
The veteran actor has worked in 450 Malayalam films donning grease paint and has also won two state awards. He stunned fans with his Malabar dialect in several of his movies and his physical stature and dialogue delivery that instantly made audiences laugh out loud.
