MUMBAI: Popular Kannada actor Vijay Raghavendra’s wife Spandana recently passed away at the age of 41. She was vacationing in Bangkok, Thailand and suffered a heart attack late on Sunday night. She was on a vacation with her cousins. Raghvendra’s brother Sri Murali confirmed the news of her demise and said, “She slept as usual but did not wake up. My brother is in Bangkok now and we are waiting for the updates.”

Now, many have been speculating that the reason for Spandana’s demise could be her following a Keto diet and extreme exercising. Many praised her when she had recently lost 16 kgs and appeared in a Kanna film, a reality show as well as produced a film named ‘Kismat’, where Vijaya Raghavendra played the lead role. Previously, when Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away following a heart attack, many questioned his death being a result of extreme workouts.

Congress MLC and senior leader B.K. Hariprasad, who is Spandana’s paternal uncle, said that her body reached Bengaluru from Thailand at 11:00 on Tuesday night and her home at 12:30 a.m. Her last rites will be held today at the Harishchandra Ghat in Srirampura.

Vijay and Spandana married in 2007 and have a son. She was the daughter of retired police officer B K Shivaram.

Vijay has worked in the Kannada film industry as an actor and singer for many years. He has also won the 2016 Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for the movie Shivayogi Sri Puttayyajja and also won the first season of Bigg Boss Kannada.
