Playing Himself: The Big B has done it again

In Bombay Talkies, the film commemorating a 100 years of Indian cinema the Big B Amitabh Bachchan plays Amitabh Bachchan, the mega-star whom a fan wants to meet come hell or high-water. This is not the first time that the Big B has appeared as himself in a movie. In fact in another ready-for-release film entitled The Struggler, Mahesh Manjrekar plays a struggler whose dream finally comes true when he meets his idol Amitabh Bachchan. Karan Johar too busy with three releases next month

The year 2013 seems to be a busy year for Karan Johar who has as many as three films lined up for release within a matter of a month. Johar, who is just back after attending the TOIFA in Vancouver, has got into the promotion and marketing of <em>Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bombay Talkies</em> and <em>Gippi</em> and is going to be vividly occupied like never before. Moreover with <em>2 States</em> and <em>Ungli</em> making brisk progress courtesy the limited duration for Sanjay Dutt to finish his shoot, things have gone extreme for the filmmaker.

Anurag Kashyap dedicates song to Amitabh Bachchan in Bombay Talkies

As is known that four filmmakers Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar are making four short films for the movie, <em>Bombay Talkies. </em> While we did inform our readers about the films by Johar and Dibakar Banerjee, today we set to inform about the film of Kashyap. His short story is based on an ardent fan's wish to meet Amitabh Bachchan.

Aamir and other top notch stars to feature in a song honouring Indian cinema in Bombay Talkies

Contrary to reports that Aamir Khan has been roped into a special extra segment for Bombay Talkies, the 4-episode film directed by Dibakar Bannerjee, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap, the star-actor is actually part of a special theme song to commemorate 100 years of Indian cinema which will be part of the film.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play a failed actor in Bombay Talkies

Every day, we keep getting some interesting news or other from the highly awaited movie Bombay Talkies which will see four noted directors coming together namely Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar to mark 100 glorious years of Indian cinema. Just yesterday we were fed with the news that Aamir Khan would play a bit role in the segment directed by Johar. Now, we understand that Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be playing the role of a failed actor in Dibakar Banerjee’s segment. Reportedly, the 48-year-old actor will shoot for a special sequence in the film.

Ranbir Kapoor is sutradhar of Bombay Talkies

Keeping beside his busy schedule, Ranbir Kapoor has joined the team of Bombay Talkies. The film celebrates 100 years of Indian cinema. It comprises four different short films each of which has been directed by Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap and Zoya Akhtar. Incidentally, this is the first time that the four prolific directors have come together for a movie. The film will have Ranbir as the <em>sutradhar</em> (narrator); his character will tie the four short films into one film.
