Director's Kut to kickstart Teri Meri Love Stories on Star Plus with a big fat Punjabi wedding

The series of telefilms on Star Plus, titled Teri Meri Love Stories opens this week with Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut’s love story blossoming in the premise of a big fat Punjabi wedding (11 August at the 9 pm slot). As reported earlier, the entire wedding sequence in the telefilm has been shot in the picturesque Pataudi Palace. Arvind Babbal, senior director in the industry has directed the telefilm; a budding music composer Pranay Rijia has scored a brilliant background score.

Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut has churned out some interesting concepts which have been trendsetters on television. And now, the production house is all set to mesmerize viewers with an interesting love story which will be part of Star Plus’ series of telefilms, <em>Teri Meri Love Stories</em>, slated to launch on 11 August (2012). Director’s Kut recently completed the long shooting schedule for the telefilm which stars Gautam Rode, Kushal Punjabi, Dimple Jhangiani, Dolly Ahluwalia.

Dimple Jhangiani and Kushal Punjabi in Director's Kut's telefilm on Star Plus

Tellychakkar.com was the first to break the news of Ankita Sharma replacing Dimple Jhangiani in Rajan Shahi’s <em>Amrit Manthan</em> (Life OK). In a candid chat with us, Dimple confessed that she was quite sad on being ousted from the show, but, as they, when one door shuts, ten other opens. This lovely lady has been signed to play an important role in Director’s Kut’s telefilm for Star Plus. And there is more info, folks…apart from Dimple, the makers have also roped in handsome and talented Kushal Punjabi. Kushal was last seen in Life OK’s <em>Aasman Se Aage</em>.

And now, we have got some more info on the show. We have learned that Divya Bhatnagar, last seen in a prominent character in Imagine’s <em>Preeto</em> and who gained popularity via her impressive stint in <em>Geet Hui Sabse Parayi</em>, has been signed for the telefilm which is being produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut.

Star Plus to add ‘Short Films’ to their weekend programming

Star Plus, the #1 GEC has always been innovative in their thought process when it comes to attempting something new. The news coming in is that the channel is now planning to air interesting and thought provoking short films as part of their weekend programming. Though the planning is still at its nascent stage, we hear that the channel is in talks with prominent production houses like Director’s Kut, BBC Entertainment, Sunshine Productions, Spellbound Productions, Playtime Creations, amongst others, for making short films.

Pearl Grey is ambitious about Pyaar Ki Naukri

Tellychakkar.com has already reported that Pearl Grey will be solely producing a show for Star Plus, titled <em>Pyaar Ki Naukri</em>. Incidentally, her show <em>Pratigya</em> airs on the same channel. “I always feel comfortable while working with them.
