Sharad Kelkar hopes to hike up the ratings of Kuch Toh...

Lot has been written in the media about Sharad Kelkar replacing Mohnish Behl in Sony Entertainment Television’s critically acclaimed show, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. However, media pundits have diverse opinions on Sharad being picked as the replacement. Many believe that he is too young to play the character whereas there are also some, who have given thumbs up to the production house (Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut) for giving him a nod. Now only time will tell if Sharad will deliver as Dr Ashutosh or not, but there is no point denying that he is one of the finest actors in the world of Hindi television. He has more than seven years of experience under his belt and became a rage after playing Nahar in Saat Phere (ZEE TV). As Dr Ashutosh, his look will be quite different and interesting. He will be seen as a lean, unshaved mature man wearing rimless glasses. "I am quite happy with the character as it is quite new and fresh. I did see Dhoop Kinare but Kuch Toh… is a lot better as it is more contemporary," said Sharad to Tellychakkar.com. He has already started shooting for the show and he has been having a blast. "I have been preparing for the role. Earlier, I played a goody-goody guy, a perfect husband and then portrayed a negative character. But as Ashutosh, I will get to do something new." So what about being compared with Mohnish? "Mohnish has done a wonderful job and he is a senior actor. Reaching up to his level of performance is difficult. But I hope I can hike up the falling TRPs of the show. Whenever I used to get time, I watched Kuch Toh..." Sharad, all the best! We hope that you win hearts as Dr Ashutosh.
