TGILC takes a break

Laughter is the best medicine but an overdose of it can kill you. This adage is now being followed by the makers of<em>The Great Indian Laughter Challenge</em>, who have decided to take a break post <em> TGILC 3</em>. In the past, the contest has been followed by <em> The Great Indian Laughter Champions</em> - a generic stand-up show. However, the channel has now decided against it. This comes as a real surprise to its viewers who've been longing to see the likes of Kapil Sharma, Chandan Prabhakar, Amanullah Khan again. So what exactly went wrong?

Laugh-a-thon this May:Great Indian Laughter Challenge 3

Star One's newest tagline for <em>The Great Indian Laughter Challenge-3 (TGILC-3)</em> 'Seriously Funny' claims that original funny bones are going to be back in business. In the third season of this stand-up comic talent in India; humour will have a new face. It won't be filled with the usual cheeky, sleazy, sexist, below the belt or vulgar jokes but promises to floor viewers with humour that wasn't heard before!

The Champions Mahayudh!!

Star One's <em>The Great Indian Laughter Challenge</em> has been one of the most watched show in the recent times. With around two years into the rib-tickling service, the show is ready with a fresh new episodic series titled <em>The Laughter Champions Mahayudh</em>. The new series will witness a battle of wits between the contestants who have taken part in the earlier shows and would be divided into two teams of six people each. The sardar of humour, Navjot Singh Sidhu would captain one team, while the other would be headed by the original bad boy of bollywood---Shakti Kapoor.

After tasting success with shows like <em> Nach Baliye</em> and <em>The Great Indian Laughter Challenge</em>, Star One is now ready roll out <em> Antakshari -The Great Challenge</em> to sustain audience's interest in the channel. This innovative and exciting format, which captures the passion the Indian audiences have for music, is being produced by Gajendrra Siingh. This time around, the challenge for the channel as well as the producer will be to bring home the show in a new avatar from its earlier version that was a roaring hit.

The Hasi ka Badshah gets hitched!

She is a professor of Economics and he's the newly crowned badshah of blah -- a jodi made in comic heaven, but surely, opposites attract! Sunil Pal and Sarita's match goes all out to prove just that! Sunil, the winner of <em>The Great Indian Laughter Challenge</em>, tied the knot on 26 February with his sweetheart, Sarita, who is a professor of Economics at Raheja College, Mumbai. The couple met six months ago, when 30 year old, Sunil was invited as the chief guest in a college function.

X chromosome to rule TGILC2

<em>The Great Indian Laughter Challenge</em> will come back in a new avatar early next year and this time Perizaad (or whoever hosts the show next) will not be the only glam quotient of the show. The makers are trying to woo female stand up commediennes! "It's a challenge to get women contestants! Women are stuck in a world of dignity, they can't disgrace themselves by stooping so low so as to make faces or gestures to make others laugh!" laughs <em>TGILC</em> director Pankaj Saraswat.

Sunil Pal the hasi ka badshah!

<em>The Great Indian Laughter Challenge</em> chose its <em>Hasi Ka Badshah</em>. And Sunil Pal famous for his famous line "moje mein" made it as the best comedian yesterday. He became a hasti hastey hasaatey literally.
