Yash Raj Films makes a major breakthrough in Japan

Yash Raj Films has made a major breakthrough in Japan, a significant territory that has eluded the presence of Indian cinema presence in a big way until now. But not anymore, as things are about to change. This change has been made possible by YRF tying up with Japan's oldest major movie studio and entertainment company Nikkatsu Corporation which released the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif historic blockbuster, <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em>, directed by Kabir Khan on 7 March with a grand premiere in Tokyo.

YRF signs Ayushmann Khurana and Sonam Kapoor for their next rom com

Yash Raj Films has roped in Ayushmann Khurana for its next yet untitled project. The film, supposed to be a romantic comedy will have Sonam Kapoor in the female lead. The m said to be a realistic script written by Habib Faisal is to be directed by Nupur Asthana. The entire film will be shot in Delhi. The film is a rom com. It is about the love between two people during the time of recession. The film will go on the floors in February (2013) and may release by year-end.

Ram Kapoor starrer Mere Dad Ki Maruti to release on 15 March

Yash Raj Films (YRF)’ next venture Mere Dad Ki Maruti (MDKM) under the Y-Films banner, has finally got a release date. It will release universally on 15 March (2013). For some time now, it has been seen that YRF is becoming the perfect platform for budding talent. After having successfully launched Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baaraat, it followed up by casting Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in Ishaqzaade.

Yash Raj Films signs Ayushmann Khurrana for future venture

Strange are ways of the workings of Yash Raj Films (YRF). On one hand the production house is churning out films with big names in quick succession and on the other, they’re not shying away from working with newcomers and not-so-known names. A few weeks ago, it was reported that the production house had signed on Sushant Singh Rajput to do multiple films for the banner. The latest from the YRF stable is that Ayushmann Khurrana has been approached for one of their forthcoming ventures. It is old news that YRF recently launched Arjun Kapoor too.

YRF to produce Shekhar Kapur's Paani

Yash Raj Films (YRF) has joined hands with Shekhar Kapur to produce his ambitious project Paani. Talking about his association with YRF, Kapur said, "I have been preparing for this film for a long time, but always wanted an Indian partner that has the same passion for the film as I do. I have finally found one in Adi (Aditya Chopra). It’s a huge production that demands futuristic sets and large action pieces. In Yash Raj Films, I have found a perfect home for <em>Paani.</em>"

Everyone knows by now that Ajay Devgn has waged an all-out ideological war against the alleged monopolistic practices of Yashraj Films. In his fight against what he believes to be a monopolistic trade practice of Yashraj Films Ajay Devgn is not alone. Filmmaker Prakash Jha, a long-standing friend of Devgn, has pitched in vocally with Ajay, going as far as to say he’s willing to take on the various film guilds and associations in Bollywood in Devgn’s fight against Yashraj’s alleged monopoly.
