Observe real people around you; it really helps
Want to understand the nuances of characterisations? Observe real people around you. As an actor you should be able to portray various characters. And what better way than monitoring others, and using their body languages in your performance.
Don’t run after money
As an actor your priority should be clear. If you want to run after money you will never succeed. Instead work towards doing good work that can take you a long way. Monetary satisfaction will be momentary, work on going in the history books as a talented actor.
Be up to date
Always keep in mind that it is not just looks but also personality that matters. Keep up to date with technology, politics, social issues and of course trends. It really helps not just in sparking off a conversation but also to be able to give out realistic performances.
Don’t be choosy if you are a fresher
Always have an open mind and be ready to experiment with the kind of project and roles you take up. And if you are a fresher, don’t be choosy; you should try out new stuff and with different production houses. Take your chance, and soon you will settle in the perfect position.
Only performance works
And finally what your peers say, it is only and ONLY performance that works in the industry. You may be star kid, or you are ready to pump in investment, nothing will work on screen. You need to be a good actor to survive in this cut throat competitive industry.
